Sunchaser: hourly temperature and rain through the year
When to go where
Add the places you're thinking of with the search box above. Each row shows, week by week, how much of the day was warm and dry enough by your definition.
- good
- rainy
- too hot
- too cool
- this week
Each cell is a week; its bar is the share of all hours, day and night, over every year in the period, that were good. A cold or hot hour counts as that even if it also rained. Click a month to sort the places by it, or a place to see its hourly charts. Rain comes from a weather model, which reports more light rain than a rain gauge would, so "without rain" means under 0.5 mm in the hour, and heavy rain is 2 mm or more. Difference
Average for each day and local hour, smoothed over 31 days; single nights are often colder. Average US air quality index for each day and local hour over the last three complete years, smoothed over 31 days, from the CAMS model (Open-Meteo); bad days and wildfire or haze seasons stand out less than they felt. How often each hour of the day had at least 0.5 mm of rain, smoothed over 31 days. A weather model tends to report more light rain than a rain gauge would. Darker shading marks twilight and night. The difference compares the same calendar day and local clock time. Data: Open-Meteo (ERA5, ECMWF IFS), places: GeoNames, both CC BY 4.0.
